Hook & Hunting: Archery Season Begins Oct. 1

With archery season less than a week away, we talked with FPS Archery in Cadillac about how hunters can prepare for this season.

The season officially kicks off on Oct.1.

They said the number one priority for hunters is to be safe.

They recommend always having a cell phone on you and letting someone know where you will be.

FPS Archery also reminds hunters to tune up their bows, crossbows and compound bows.

They say crossbows are continuing to innovate.

“New crossbows that are coming out. People can shoot farther. For archery season that is shooting deer farther with higher speeds and higher energy,” said Mitchell McEachern, one of the owners at FPS Archery.

Again archery season begins on Oct. 1 and wraps up Nov. 14.
