What’s Growing With Tom: Week 14

The recent rain and warmth have really made the garden look incredible.

Today we are focusing on the raised bed mostly growing from seed. All, except the peppers, are from seed and ALL are flourishing!

The broccoli are tall, full and close to crowning – that means you’ll see what you normally see in the store really soon! So, they should be ready to harvest within a month.

I pulled a row of broccoli out because they were crowding the peppers.  I cleared them out and the peppers popped a good 6″ in just the last week.

Our carrots are great as well but my thinning job could’ve been better. A lot are grouped together, thus crowding out the space. In the end, they can’t fully grow.

They will be edible but just won’t look the best.

The lettuce is just holding on so we are going to clear then out. I’ve already harvested a lot but want more. The soil will have no problem taking on more growth. I’ll take this out today and replant in August for a fall harvest.

This is just the 1st of 3 segments going over the veggies. Next week, we are focusing on peppers, green beans, and tomatoes, which are growing like crazy!
