MARION — Marion baseball took home a district trophy last year in what was head coach Chad Grundy’s 398th win of his career.
The Eagles would fall in the next round, and Grundy would have to wait until April 9 for another shot at the milestone.
Grundy was inducted into the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2025 and is in his ninth season as Marion’s head coach.

Grundy has led the Eagles to three straight district crowns and got the new season off to a tremendous start.
15-0 and 18-0 wins in the opening games of the season over Traverse City Christian pushed Grundy to the milestone.
He was presented with a plaque by his players following the game to recognize the achievement.
