Judge Hears Argument Against COVID-19 Testing for High School Athletes

A judge is considering arguments in a lawsuit over the state’s requirement that student athletes take weekly COVID-19 tests.

The lawsuit was brought by a group called Let Them Play Michigan.

The health department argues the testing is necessary to help keep coronavirus cases from spreading in schools.

The group argues the COVID-19 testing requirement did not go through the proper rule-making procedures.

On Tuesday the group looked to put a pause on the order, but the judge has yet to make a decision.
