Healthcare leaders from around the state held a virtual roundtable Monday afternoon to discuss what’s going on with the coronavirus in Michigan.

They say cases are rising in every region in the state and the rate at which they’re rising is faster than the state saw in the spring.

Doctors say the rise in cases is also not directly linked to a rise in testing.

The rapid rise in cases could create more challenges when it comes to managing the spread.

“There’s no question that the real enemy here is the virus, and the more we can get this virus under control, the more lives will be saved and the easier it will be for all of us to get back to some sense of normalcy in our lives,” said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun.

Doctors also say they’re noticing more cases in younger people with more close contacts.
