Strut Your Mutt, Oceana Co. Shelter Fundraiser

An area nonprofit wants to invite you to Strut Your Mutt on Saturday, July 27, during their 5k fun run. You and your pets are invited to participate.

The non-competitive race costs $25 per person. Proceeds benefit the Local Animal Shelter Support Incorporated, helping L.A.S.S.I. provide veterinary care for the stray, neglected, abused and injured animals in Oceana County.

Mike Garcia from the Oceana County Animal Shelter says, “If we get an animal that’s sick and we don’t have it in our budget to pay for it to go to the vet, [L.A.S.S.I] takes care of it, so all of this money goes to emergency medical. We don’t euthanize for overcrowding, we don’t euthanize for animals being here too long. They’re just a great organization for us.”

The event starts at 9 a.m.on Saturday, July 27, at the Up North Farm Market in Hart.
