Charlevoix Student With Autism Wins Nationwide Cooking Contest
It was a very special morning for a Charlevoix eighth grader and his school.
Nathan Davis loves to cook, and he has autism.
The Charlevoix middle schooler entered a competition to show off his skills this year.
It’s called the Ben’s Beginners Cooking Contest put on by Uncle Ben’s.
After months of photo submission and votes, Nathan was named one of the top five grand prize winners in the country!
Meaning he won a $30,000 kitchen makeover for his school.
“Cause cooking is my favorite thing to do. I always love cooking,” says Nathan Davis. “I am going to get Mr. Foster some pans, pots, some kitchen things, whatever. My school is excited, my classmates are exited and my family is excited. Everyone’s excited!”
Charlevoix Middle High School says they’re looking at what they want to use the award money for.
Nathan and his family also won $15,000 from the competition.
