Arnold Transit Resumes Ferry Service To Mackinac Island

Posted: Updated:

After a short off-season, ferry service is up and running again to Mackinac Island.

The first boat went from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday.

It's a day many islanders wait for.

Arnold Transit is the only line running at the moment, since the boat has the ability to travel through light ice.

Because of the warmer season, the line only stopped running for a month.

This start date is much earlier than usual.

The line will operate on a limited schedule starting out.
