* Some Snow Tonight
* Winter Storm Watch for Thursday Night
* Colder Saturday with Some Lake Effect
It's been an interesting day across Northern Michigan with areas North of Traverse City dealing with clouds and some snow. Southward, the clouds gave way to more sunshine. Tonight and tomorrow is quiet but things get active for the Lower Peninsula Thursday night and Friday.
Tonight has more light flurries and light lake effect going on but with just a dusting of snow expected. You'll find more clouds north of Cadillac while southern spots are partly cloudy. Lows drop into the 20's with a few spots the upper teens. Winds go light at 4-8 mph from the west.
Flurries and a few snow showers are possible tomorrow but for most it will just be mostly cloudy or you'll find increasing clouds. Highs range from 32 to 37 degrees with light winds.
WINTER STORM WATCH FOR THURSDAY SOUTH OF M-55 - Thursday night features a snow storm for parts of the Lower Peninsula. Right now, it appears the main part will be south of Mount Pleasant with downstate areas seeing 3-6" or more. Locally, those of you south of Cadillac are expected to see 2-4" with higher amounts as you head south. The further north you are the lower the number.
The storm producing the snow moves through the Ohio Valley on Friday. This allows colder air to be pulled into the region. You'll find snow showers but with little accumulation. Highs will be in the 30's.
Lake effect snow kicks in Friday night and continues through Saturday afternoon. Accumulation is likely in NW Lower and parts of the Upper Peninsula. Saturday's highs will be in the 20's with some low 30's. We are still watching a storm for Sunday afternoon and Monday. At the moment it still looks to be snow but a mix is certainly possible of the storm changes speed or direction. Stay tuned for details.
