David Lyden joined Northern Michigan’s News Leader as an intern in May of 2014. He stayed on as an intern until May 2015 when he graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and a minor in Sports Management. He then became a full time reporter working out of Cadillac. David was born and raised ‘Up North’ in the small town of Fairview in Oscoda County. He’s thrilled to be working for the station he grew up watching. While attending CMU David anchored for the schools award winning news station, News Central 34. He also called CMU Women’s basketball, CMU Baseball and CMU Softball on the schools radio station Moore Rock Radio 91.5. When David isn’t out reporting he enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, cheering on his favorite sports teams (Go Tigers and Fire Up Chips), and discovering all the incredible sites, restaurants and breweries Northern Michigan has to offer. If you have a story idea, or just want to say hello, you can connect with David on Facebook, Twitter or e mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
