Quick response by the Sault Ste. Marie Fire department limited damage done by a fire at the Cloverland Hydroelectric Power Plant Sunday morning.
The call came in around 8:45 Sunday morning.
When firefighters arrived, there were flames and thick black smoke on the west side of the quarter-mile long building.
Crews left the scene just after noon.
The Soo fire captain says a garage within that part of the plant house several vehicles, and one caught fire.
Nobody was in the building when the fire started. The plant remained fully-functional.
One vehicle was destroyed. The extent of damage to other vehicles and the building will be investigated.
Cloverland, along with Soo Fire, will investigate the cause of the fire.
