A man is dead after the car he was driving crashed and caught fire in Manistee County Sunday morning.
It happened on Stronach Road about a quarter mile north of Steinberg Road in Stronach Township.
A passerby saw the car off the road with a smoking engine.
The Manistee County Sheriff says that person tried to get the driver out but the doors would not open.
A fire fighter arrived on scene a short time later and tried to break the window but couldn’t.
Flames then overtook the car.
Deputies say it appears the car was in a rollover crash before catching fire.
