They’ve enjoyed the dozens of movies and a number of events centered around those films.
"It’s a great venue. Good selection of movies top notch theaters and venues to see them in."
This year the Traverse City Film Festival did not disappoint. It brought hundreds of people to Northern Michigan.
"The area is so wonderful so when we aren’t at films we are going out to Sleeping Bear Dunes and to the winery and it’s just a fun area," said Sandra Charron.
Around 1,500 volunteers worked tirelessly to make the festival a success.
"These people come some of them take vacations to come to Traverse City to work for the festival. They bring friends with them they spread the word they work so hard," Ann Post said.
The festival, also a huge success for local businesses who welcomed the crowds with open arms.
"We see lots of shopping bags going by and ice cream and smoothies books in the bags so all of that is tremendous, It’s great for the whole community," Ann said.
After 13 years, the festival has become well known for a number of reasons, but one seems to stand out year in and year out.
"The people in line are so friendly they all say are you in town for the film festival and we find out where we are from. I did a high five with a woman I met in line yesterday and we are buddies just like that," Sandra said.
