Healthy Living: Giant Cell Myocarditis

It kills by inflaming your heart muscles and it is so rare it’s tough to diagnose.

Michelle Dunaway has the story of a woman who is one of only about 300 people ever to suffer from this heart disease and lived to tell about it.

After full recovery, with help from the organization Lifebanc, Brenda met the family who donated her new heart.

She says it has opened her eyes to organ donation.

Every ten minutes, a new name is added to the national organ waiting list, and on average 22 people die each day because there aren’t enough organs.

One organ donor can save up to eight lives.
