MTM On The Road: Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm

As the weather heats up, we’re not the only ones who need to dress a little lighter.

Every year at this time farmers across Northern Michigan shave their Alpacas so they can stay cool for the summer.

Alpaca fiber is one of the most soft, durable, and luxurious fibers in the world.

After the fuzzy friends are sheared their coats are used to make all kinds of cozy knits, from sweaters to stuffed animals.

Today Our On The Road crew is at Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm giving us an inside look at Alpaca Shearing Day and how the whole process works.
