Under the Governor's proposed budget, the Pure Michigan Campaign would get some of its funding from the road. She proposed a new fee on rental cars that would fund the campaign. The governor says for every dollar spent on the campaign, the state gets more than $2 back in taxes from tourists spending money. Today, the Senate Finance Committee says it found $9.5 million more to help fund the campaign. That's positive news areas in Northern Michigan that depend on tourism for jobs.
