Nokomis Challenge Center Closing Tomorrow

Budget cuts forced another Northern Michigan facility to close its doors. State funding stopped at the Nokomis Challenge Center, leaving dozens of employees and residents without a place to work and receive treatment. The Challenge Center in Prudenville in Roscommon County will close its doors tomorrow. It is the only State run facility that treats convicted, young male felons with addictions. Back in October, they knew they were not in the budget, but the Center had hoped they would find a way to stay open. 9&10's Chivon Kloepfer and Photo Journalist Michael Bulthuis have more in this report.
