Happy New Year! Crafting with the Katies has one final craft to say goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023!
If you’re throwing a New Year’s Eve party, this is a great addition to your decor: some DIY paper straw stars!
For this project, you’ll need:
- 25 paper straws in the color of your choice
- Twine or string
- Scissors
To make this DIY, follow these steps:
Step one: Cut your straws in half. You’ll want to have five pieces.
Step two: String your five paper straws either with twine or string.
Step three: Once you’re done with that, tie off the ends of your string. Leave your string a little long so you can create a loop for your star to hang on.
Step four: Make a “house” shape with your straws. Then, take one side of your “house” and fold it over the other side.
Step five: Take the top of your star and fold it over the middle and inside your star.
Step six: Adjust your straws to make a star shape!
And you’re done! You can also make bigger stars by using the full straw instead of half.
