Memorial Day weekend is a big catch for fishermen in Northern Michigan, and now there’s another reason to cast off.
Catch and keep bass fishing kicks off this Saturday.
The holiday is expected to attract anglers from all over the state to places like Roscommon County.
Lyman’s Bait Shop in Houghton Lake says they’re stocking up to keep up with the flood of fishermen.
“It’s a good weekend for us, it’s one of our bigger weekends. Fourth of July is a good one, this one’s a good one, ya know any of the big holiday weekends are good for us. Lot of people coming to town and if the weather holds out there will be a lot more people coming,” says manager Gary Hath.
This weekend, Lyman’s opens bright and early at 6 in the morning.
