Now that spring is here, the DNR is reminding everyone to leave abandoned wildlife alone.
They say wildlife will hide their young in safe spots while they search for food, sometimes leaving them alone for hours.
If you see one alone, you should just let nature takes its course and its parents will most likely come back for it.
“She only comes in to feed or move that animal just a couple times a day, so that means hours will go by without a mother present. Mom’s not going to come back with you there, enjoy that moment but back away and let mom come back,” says DNR wildlife technician Katie Keen.
It’s illegal to have any wildlife animal, unless you are certified.
