Wisconsin-Parkside Sweeps LSSU in Basketball Doubleheader

SAULT STE. MARIE – Wisconsin-Parkside swept a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against Lake Superior State on Thursday.

In the women’s game the Rangers jumped out to a 41-28 halftime lead and never looked back in sending the Lakers (4-10, 1-5 GLIAC) to their second straight loss.

Paty Gallasova led Parkside with 27 points, and teammate Alyssa Nelson added 24.  Lake Superior State was led by Mattison Rayman with 22.  Margot Woughter had 16 and Grace Bradford 11 for the Lakers.

In the men’s game, Wisconsin-Parkside shot 51% from the field in handing the Lakers their fifth loss in their last six contests, 78-64.

Jamir Simpson paced the Rangers with 21 points, while Caden Ebeling put up 13 points to lead Lake Superior State (5-9, 4-2 GLIAC).

The Lakers’ men’s and women’s teams are back in action at home on Saturday against Purdue Northwest.
