You might want to keep an eye on the Michigan women’s track program this year. After pulling off a near miraculous win recently, you might be asking, “What else are they capable of?!”
During the women’s 4x400-meter relay race at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational in Ann Arbor on Jan. 21, the first runner, Sophie Isom, fell around the 30-second mark.
Her baton dropped but stayed on the track, so she picked it up and just kept running, no matter that she was now quite far behind.
Savannah Sutherland took the second leg and managed to catch up to the Michigan State and Purdue teams.
Then Aurora Rynda and Ziyah Holman finished the last two legs strongly, and Michigan won by an astonishing 8 seconds! The winning time was 3:42.43.
