BRETHREN - The Brethren Bobcats are having their best girls basketball season since 2017-18.
The Bobcats got out to a 13-0 start before suffering their first loss of the season Monday night against McBain NMC.
Despite that setback, the Bobcats are hungry to prove their strength over the remainder of the season.
With no seniors on the roster this year, Brethren is building and learning from each and every experience.
“We all played really well tonight, that was a good team to lose to,” sophomore Alice Amstutz said after the loss to McBain NMC. “So I think that like my coach said, she said our losses are what show who we are as a team and as a person so I think we can take that and build up from this loss.”
“You never want to overestimate yourself so it was crazy to get to 13-0,” added junior Maddy Biller. “I think it’s been a long time since our school’s been there. So we still don’t want that number [of losses] to get any bigger so we’ve got to re-evaluate and look at our team and say ‘hey this is what we need to do.’ And we’re going to do it.”
