Lake City Earns Narrow Win Over McBain in Girls Hoops

LAKE CITY - Two free throws by Mackenzie Bisballe with a minute to play gave Lake City a lead it would not relinquish in a 33-27 win over McBain on Friday night.

The two teams were tied 17-17 at the half.

All of the Ramblers points were scored by four players. Annaliese Frieden led the way with 11 points, Sydney Heuker finished with eight points. Kahli Heuker finished with six points and Caitlin Butzin added two points.

Similarly, all of Lake City’s points were scored by four players. Mackenzie Bisballe paced the Trojans with 13 points and Alie Bisballe chipped in 11 points. Payton Hogan added eight points and Tarrin Miller scored one point.

The win improves Lake City’s record to 12-1 (7-1 Highland). McBain falls to 9-4 (6-2 Highland).

Lake City will have a chance to pull even with Evart at the top of the conference when the Trojans host the Wildcats (12-1, 9-0 Highland) on Wednesday night.

McBain will look to get back in the win column at Manton on Wednesday night.
