MESICK – The Mesick Bulldogs and Forest Area Warriors won opening matches in the district round of play in the Division 4 state volleyball playoffs on Monday night.
Forest Area defeated Marion in the first match of the night, 25-5, 25-21, 17-25 & 25-19.
The Warriors now advance to meet McBain Northern Michigan Christian in a District Semifinal on Wednesday night at Mesick at 5:30 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, host Mesick topped Buckley in three sets, 25-22, 25-12 & 25-19.
Buckley will now meet Baldwin in the other District Semifinal at Mesick on Wednesday night at approximately 7:00 p.m.
