BIG RAPIDS – Top-ranked Ferris State kicked off its 2022 campaign with a 36-20 win over visiting Central Washington at Top Taggart Field Thursday.
The Bulldogs (1-0) held a 20-13 lead at the half.
Mylik Mitchell went 19-for-29 for 339 yards and a touchdown and added 34 yards and a score on the ground.
Marcus Taylor, Evan Cummins and Carson Gulker all tallied a touchdown apiece on the ground as Ferris State outgained Central Washington 494-229.
Ferris State hits the road next week, traveling to Lenoir-Rhyne for a 1 p.m. kickoff next Saturday.
