Reed City Looking to go Unbeaten in Conference for Third Straight Season

REED CITY – Reed City football won nine games in a row in-between a season-opening loss to Cadillac and a season-ending loss to Montague in the district championship.

It was the second straight year the Coyotes have finished unbeaten in conference play and the 12th straight season they’ve finished with a winning record.

Winning is the expectation in Reed City and this year’s team hopes to keep it that way.

“They take pride in what they’re doing,” head coach Scott Shankel said of his team. “They take pride in keeping the legacy going here at Reed City and that’s a big thing for us.”

“It’s a passion,” said senior Seth Jackson. “We have a lot of dudes who love to compete. So we’ve done it since we were little. We love winning, that’s for sure.”

Reed City kicks off the season on Aug. 26th against Orchard View.
