Ferris State Picked to Win GLIAC in Preseason Football Poll

BIG RAPIDS — The Ferris State football team has won three straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, and the expectations remain the same for 2022. The Bulldogs were selected to win the GLIAC in the coaches preseason poll on Monday.

Ferris State returns a strong roster from its undefeated season where they won their first national title. They received five first place votes and 35 points in the preseason poll. Their rival Grand Valley State received the other two first place votes and 32 points.

The Bulldogs have won 38 straight regular season games, with 31 of those coming in GLIAC play. They will start their season on Sept. 1 against Central Washington at home at 7:30 p.m.

  2. Grand Valley State, 32 points (2 first place votes)
  3. Michigan Tech, 24 points
  4. Saginaw Valley State, 22 points
  5. Northern Michigan, 14 points
  6. Wayne State, 12 points
  7. Davenport, 8 points
