Harbor Springs Girls Soccer Defeats Glen Lake for Second Straight Year in Div. 4 District Finals

SUTTONS BAY – The Harbor Springs girls soccer team knocked out Glen Lake 4-1 for the second straight year in the Div. 4 district championship on Thursday night in Suttons Bay.

“We had them in our sights the whole season and to come here and play like we did it shows like how much we can come together as a team,” said Harbor Springs senior Claire Hayhurst.

“We won in last year. We know what that means, defending the title. And the intensity and energy level has to be up there. Glen Lake was an amazing team. We read about them all year. We knew that their forwards were dangerous and we were able to shut them out and walk away with the win,” said Harbor Springs girls soccer head coach Aaron Riley.

The 13-7-1 Rams advance to their second straight regional semifinal to face the winner of McBain NMC and Buckley on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Cadillac.

Glen Lake ends its season 14-4 overall.
