BIG RAPIDS – Big Rapids’ Kyra Couch scored the only goal of the CSAA tournament championship to lift the Cardinals to a 1-0 win over Newaygo for their second straight conference title on Thursday night.
The Cardinals and Lions had met earlier this month and settled in a 1-1 tie.
Big Rapids improves to 13-5-2 overall and finishes its conference run 9-0-1. The Cardinals are set to host Shelby on Monday.
Newaygo falls to 13-3-1 and 8-1-1 in the CSAA. The Lions will welcome Manistee on Wednesday.
