ST. IGNACE — The St. Ignace girls basketball team will have a chance to compete for another district title, as the Saints defeated Johannesburg-Lewiston, 61-34, on Wednesday in the Div. 3 district semifinals.
The Saints only led by five points after one quarter, but built that lead up to 10 by halftime. They pulled away in the third by holding a 45-24 lead entering the final quarter.
Ally Schultz led St. Ignace with 21 of the team’s 61 points. Jayden Marlatt had 10 points for the Cardinals.
The Saints will seek their 14th straight district title when they face Charlevoix on Friday at 6 p.m.
