JACKSON – Cheboygan junior Cole Swanberg defeated Ogemaw Heights junior Tyler Downs in the championship matchup to claim the MHSAA Div. 3 individual bowling state title at JAX 60 Lanes in Jackson on Saturday.
Swanberg bowled a first frame score of 269 and second of 212 for a combined total of 471. After winning a regional title two years ago, he secured his first ever state title.
Downs carded a 196 in his first game and 146 in the second to finish with a 337.
