SAULT STE. MARIE — Lake Superior State pulled away in the second half to pick up a 99-87 conference win over Saginaw Valley State on Thursday at home in men’s basketball.
The Lakers received 33 points on 11-of-18 shooting from Malek Adams, while Kemon Bassett added 24 points.
Lake Superior State held just a two-point lead at halftime and a 53-50 lead at the 15:38 mark in the second half. The Lakers then went on a 10-0 run in the next 1:37 to build a strong lead, which they held through the remainder of the game.
LSSU improves to 3-2 in conference play and 8-3 overall. They will host Wayne State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
