Hart Girls Cross Country Makes History, Wins Fifth Straight State Title

BROOKLYN – The Hart girls cross country team made history Saturday at the MHSAA Division 3 state finals at Michigan International Speedway after securing the program’s fifth straight state title.

This year’s title tied Rockford’s run in Class A/Division 1 from 1998-2002 for the longest championship streak in Lower Peninsula girls cross country history.

The Pirates had three girls finish in the top five with Alyson Enns in second, Jessica Jazwinski in third and Audrianna Enns in fourth place.

Hart scored 143 points to beat runner-up Kent City by 36 points.

The Hart boys cross country team also took home some hardware, finishing in second place as state runner-up in Division 3.
