BRIMLEY – The Brimley football team will start this season without one of its top rushers following the graduation of Mason Harris.

The Bays return a senior-laden roster ready to get their team back to the postseason.

Nine seniors will carry the load in Steve Beseau’s first year as head coach. Beseau moves up the coaching ranks after serving as an assistant coach.

Beseau says it will be a team effort this fall, especially as they replace the production on offense after Harris graduated.

“We have some kids with some pretty good talent, speed-wise,” Beseau said. “Probably just going to divvy it up and a couple different kids are going to run the ball this year.”

It’s just staying focused. It’s discipline. It’s knowing where you’re supposed to block. It’s those little mistakes that allows the linebacker to come up and hit you in the backfield,” added senior Graydon Newland. “If he gets hit, that’s just a hole for a 60-yard gain.”

Brimley opens its season on the road at Newberry on Friday.
