Fremont Eyes Quality Over Quantity This Fall

FREMONT – Fresh off its best season since 2014, Fremont is back on the practice field this week.

Fremont’s two wins a year ago were the most for the Packers since going 4-5 in 2014. The Packers finished up their 2020 campaign at 2-5 after going a combined 1-44 the previous five seasons.

The Packers say the intensity is certainly there this time around – hopefully putting the challenges of last year’s COVID-delayed season behind them.

With only five players returning, second-year coach Jason Carpenter says it’s all about quality over quantity.

“It really is a completely new team, but we do have a lot of momentum coming from the offseason,” Carpenter said. “We had a great off-season, even though the numbers were low. It’s gonna be kind of the theme of us is quality over quantity this year.”

“Just focus on one game at a time, not plan 6-0 or 6-3. Just at the end of the week 1-0,” added senior Wei Chen.

Fremont welcomes in Ludington on Friday, Aug. 27 to open its season.
