Pit Spitters Clinch NWL Playoff Spot for Second Straight Time

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Pit Spitters are making their second consecutive trip to the Northwoods League playoffs after winning the first half of the Great Lakes East division following the Kenosha Kingfish’s loss to the Madison Mallards on Monday afternoon.

The Pit Spitters are now just 1.0 game ahead of the Kokomo Jackrabbits (20-15) in the Great Lakes East with a record of 21-14, while the Kingfish fall 2.0 games behind.

The Pit Spitters last won the Northwoods League title in 2019.

Traverse City looks to extend its win streak to two games when they take on the Kalamazoo Growlers on Monday night at 6:35 p.m. on the road.
