McBAIN – Four local girls soccer teams competed in McBain Northern Michigan Christian’s Comet Cup on Saturday.
The day started with NMC vs. Kingsley, where the Comets defeated the Stags 6-1.
The next game of the morning was Buckley vs. Reed City, and the Coyotes posted a shutout of 3-0.
Reed City and NMC moved on to the championship game in the final matchup of the day.
But before the championship, they held another game for the consolation winner between Buckley and Kingsley. The Bears won that game 2-0.
In the championship game, NMC won a close one 3-2 over Reed City.

The Comets were undefeated at 2-0 on the day, Reed City and Buckley finished 1-1, and Kingsley ended 0-2.
