Beaverton Falls to Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central in Semis

BATTLE CREEK — Beaverton’s run in the Div. 3 postseason came to an end on Thursday after getting swept by Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central, 25-15, 25-14, 25-19.

This was just the second time the Beavers advanced to the state semifinals, as they made their first appearance last year, losing to Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central as well in 2019. MSMCC won the state title last season.

“To get here twice is huge for our program, it’s huge for our community that just loves following us and loves supporting us,” Beaverton head coach Steve Evans said. I’m proud of all the girls and all the work they’ve put in to get us here.”

For the seniors, it was special to accomplish something that has never happened before in their program.

“To get here two years in a row, it means a lot because we had high hopes form last year,” Beaverton senior Molly Gerow said. “We worked so hard to get here that we deserve it.”

The Beavers end the season 32-6, while Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central advances to play Schoolcraft in the Div. 3 state championship.
