West’s Anci Dy Wraps up Prep Career, Looks Ahead to UIndy

After a successful four-year prep career at Traverse City West, senior Anci Dy is headed to NCAA Division II University of Indianapolis next fall.

A four-time Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association Division 1 all-state honoree and three-time member of MIGCA’s Super Team, Dy recorded top-six finishes at the MHSAA Division 1 Lower Peninsula finals in each of her four years at West.

“Their (Indianapolis) team has been really successful in the past and coach Brent (Nicoson) teaches some remarkable players so I knew he was a really good coach and that’s something that I really looked for in a college because I really want to take my game to the next step and see if it is good enough to go pro or not,” Dy said. “I felt like it was somewhere I could thrive as a student and as an athlete. I’m just grateful for this opportunity and I’m excited to take it to Indianapolis with me.”

The Dy family will have two collegiate golfers to follow next fall as former three-time Division 1 individual state champion Anika Dy will embark on her junior campaign at the University of Michigan.
