The Kingsley volleyball team is always one of the top programs in the state. With great talent coming and going every year, one thing remains the same and that is head coach Dave Hall, who in his 23rd season reached his 1,000th career win on Saturday.
This huge coaching milestone for Hall comes after a quad-meet at Suttons Bay where the Stags won the first two matches and on the final match against Benzie Central, Hall finally achieved the historic record.
“When you start out you never think about numbers or any of that kind of thing and it wasn’t even until maybe just a couple years ago that I even realized that it was a thing that might happen and that there was even a coaching record book,” Hall said. “I didn’t even know there was one. It wasn’t on my mind.”
“A lot of credit to the players that have played for me. This group of kids is working super hard, so yeah it feels good,” Hall said. “It’s nice that the team and my family can celebrate a little with me.”
With the three wins, the Stags advance to 18-5 on the season and host another top Northwest Conference opponent in Leland on Tuesday.
