VanHaistma Leads McBain NMC To Big League Win over Gladwin

MCBAIN – The McBain Northern Michigan Christian boys soccer team opened conference play with a 9-2 win over visiting Gladwin on Wednesday.

The Comets (2-1-0, 1-0-0) scored the game’s opening five goals in the first 15 minutes of Wednesday’s Northern Michigan Soccer League contest.

Seth VanHaistma netted four goals in the win while Jonas Lanser chipped with a goal and three assists.

Blake DeZeeuw turned away six shots to earn the victory in net.

NMC returns to the pitch at home Friday against Grant. The game is slated for 5 p.m.
