MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Marion senior four-sport athlete Alexis Salisbury enjoyed plenty of success on the court and in the classroom, having been named one of five valedictorians for the Class of 2020.

As a runner, Salisbury led Marion to conference championships in both cross country and track and field.

While Salisbury won’t be continuing her athletic endeavors at the collegiate level, she still plans to challenge herself academically at Mid Michigan College, with plans of attending either Grand Valley State or Ferris State after.

“The next year after that, I want to go to Grand Valley and either study something in their psychology or social work field or start their pre-law program,” Salisbury said. “I also want to do the ROTC program and Ferris State, they have their own ROTC program. If I went to Grand Valley, I’d have to commute to west Michigan, but they collaborate so I would still be able to do the ROTC program.”
