Senior Spotlight: Roscommon’s Lytle Continues Bowling Career at Kirtland CC

Lytle

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After beginning his competitive bowling career as a high school freshman, Roscommon senior Austin Lytle is now set to take his talents to Kirtland Community College and its bowling program.

An individual state bowling finals qualifier, Lytle first considered bowling the collegiate level during his junior campaign.

“Last year at regionals, a Kirtland recruiter came by and brought it up,” Lytle said. “Since that day, I knew I was going to bowl on Kirtland’s team. I’m looking forward to competitions in college and seeing how I can go up against some of the other guys on the team.”

Lytle hopes to raise his scoring average into the 180s in college.
