MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Kalkaska senior three-sport athlete Margaret Stosio enjoyed plenty of success during her prep career, including the four years she spent on the hardwood for the Blazers.
Stosio had interest from colleges to continue her basketball career at the next level but decided to go in a different direction. Stosio is focusing on her academics and will attend Michigan State in the fall while going the pre-med route.
Despite her basketball career ending, she’s thankful for the memories it created.
“My freshman year, we won districts and we were in the regional finals. It was a home game and the gym was just packed, so that was really cool,” Stosio said. “Just the friends I made because I know that they’re going to be lifelong friends.”
Stosio will begin her pre-med courses by majoring in biology.
