Senior Spotlight: Mason County Central’s Carrier Reflects on Historic Prep Career

MISportsNow is putting the spotlight on northern Michigan high school senior student-athletes who had their seasons cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jeffrey Carrier capped off an impressive high school career at Mason County Central this winter.

The senior finished as the boys basketball program’s all-time leader in career points and rebounds.

During Carrier’s time, the Spartans won back-to-back district championships during his freshman and sophomore seasons and finished with double-digit wins in three of his four years.

“The two district titles, I loved doing that. That was super fun doing that my freshman and sophomore years. We went back-to-back,” Carrier said. “The rebounding record and also my scoring record. Those four are the best I’ve done, and why I love those the most.”

Carrier is set to bring his talents to Davenport in the fall, with the goal of playing professional basketball one day. He averaged more than 21 points per game this season.
