St. Ignace, Traverse City St. Francis Highlight Sports Overtime

ST. IGNACE – Second-ranked eyes its third straight win over eighth-ranked in our “MISportsNow Fans’ Choice Game” on Friday.

In our “Overtime on the Road” matchup, Division No. 1-ranked goes for its second straight undefeated regular season and a Northern Michigan Football League Legends title, welcoming in (6-2, 5-0).

“We always talked to the kids the whole year that this game doesn’t matter if we don’t take care of all the games before that,” St. Francis coach Josh Sellers said. “I think when the schedule came out, it was kind of nice to see that that might be a week nine showdown and get everybody prepped for the playoffs.”

The Ramblers have responded nicely after dropping their first two games of the year, winning six straight to qualify for the postseason for the fifth consecutive year.

“Ultimately, you want to be in a position where you’re playing a meaningful game at the end of the year. And we’re doing that, and to win those is very special,” Boyne City coach David Hills said. “That’s kind of what we’re preparing for is putting our best on the field and challenging ourselves playing against a great football team.”

These are just two of the 14 local games we’ll have for you Friday on Sports Overtime.
