Central Michigan head coach John Bonamego expressed his feelings after his team’s 49-10 loss to Western Michigan on Saturday to start Mid-American Conference Play.
“I’d rather go through eight weeks of chemo and radiation again than to lose to that team the way we lost tonight,” Bonamego said. “You can write that down. That’s the truth in how I feel.”
The Broncos had 147 more yards of total offense than the Chippewas and sacked Cooper Rush eight times throughout the game.
With Central Michigan’s losing streak extended to two games, the Chips are looking to put this game behind them and focus on the rest of the MAC schedule.
“You have to recommit yourself to the process, and you know, put that one behind us and put all of our energy and focus into Ball State,” Bonamego said.
“There’s a lot of season left. You know, we can still win 10 games,” Central Michigan quarterback Cooper Rush said. “You know, we gotta control the MAC and put us in position in the end to see what happens.”
Central Michigan will play Ball State next week at home for its homecoming game.
