Kalkaska Sweeps Grayling LMC Quad

GRAYLING – The Kalkaska volleyball team swept a Lake Michigan Conference quad at Grayling on Monday.

The Blazers improved to 3-3 in LMC play with wins over East Jordan, Charlevoix and Grayling.

Kalkaska opened the afternoon by rallying past East Jordan in five sets (21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-9), then followed up with a victory over Charlevoix (25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 25-17). In the nightcap, the Blazers won their second five-set match of the day, topping the hosts 20-25-25-13-25-21, 13-25, 15-13.

Kalkaska returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Ogemaw Heights, while East Jordan next competes at the Petoskey Invitational on Sept. 10.

Earlier in the day, Grayling registered a 3-1 win over Charlevoix (25-19, 25-14, 14-25, 25-16) and a 3-2 victory over East Jordan (25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-6).

Grayling is back on the court on Sept. 8 for a tri-meet at McBain, while Charlevoix takes part in the Bay City Invitational on Sept. 10.
