LEROY – Kalkaska rallied in the second half for a 21-18 non-league win over Pine River on Friday, ending a two-game skid to the Bucks.
Trailing 12-0 in the second quarter after a 77-yard touchdown run from Pine River quarterback Mason Powell, Kalkaska responded with a Nolan Mitchell score just before the end of the opening half to trail 12-8 at the break.
Still trailing by four midway through the third, Hunter Suydam found Mitchell for a 28-yard score and a 14-12 lead.
Kalkaska (1-0) hosts Mancelona Thursday, while Pine River (0-1) welcomes in Morley Stanwood.
